Hale Kūʻike Bayside’s innovative two-story design creates small neighborhoods of residents that allows for a family home environment. Each floor has its own dining room and country kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of every home, and so it is at Hale Kūʻike Bayside. Our residents love to gather in the kitchen and share food and stories.
Each floor has a secure walking path with a covered lanai for the residents to sit and enjoy the sunshine and views of the lush gardens and Kaneohe Bay. The freedom to go outdoor and interact with nature is an important part of life and health. This is especially true for people with dementia who face so many limitations to their freedom and abilities. There’s no better place to be than outside in a garden in Hawaii on a beautiful day.
Our residents and staff enjoy the loving companionship Pepper, our live-in Labradoodle service dog. Many of our residents grew up with animals and immediately connect with Pepper. They are excited and help feed, groom and spoil her. Pepper provides unconditional love and friendship to our residents and their families. Pepper was trained by Hawaii Fi Do as a companion service dog. She enjoys sitting next to our residents and having her back rubbed. She roams our home freely and gives love where ever she goes. Pepper makes our house a home and we are grateful for her service, companionship and love each day.
