Out of an abundance of caution for the residents of Hale Ku'ike and 15 Craigside, where our dementia workshops are held, we are cancelling all March and April public workshops. Flu season is in full swing and we want to help minimize the public contact with such a vulnerable population. Please sign up for our eNewsletter below to receive information on future workshops. Thank you for your understanding.
- The Hale Ku’ike and 15 Craigside Teams
Learn from our Memory Care Experts.
Our workshops are free and open to all. Hear from our very own Positive Approach® to Care trainer, Dorothy Colby. By understanding the brain and the effects of memory loss on your loved ones, you’ll walk away with a greater understanding of how to be a better, more compassionate, more effective caregiver.
Dementia Progression Patterns: Seeing GEMS, Not Just Loss
Explore the GEMS® model which recognizes the dynamic nature of the human brain and its abilities. Rather than focusing on a person’s memory loss, learn to see an individual as precious, unique and capable. This encourages a care partnership and is the core of the GEMS® model. All individuals, whatever their state of being, in the right setting and with the right care, can shine!
February 2nd & 5th, 10-11 am
Hale Ku'ike Bayside
45-212 Kaneohe Bay Drive
Parking is free and refreshments will be served. After the workshop, guided tours of Hale Ku'ike Bayside will be available for those who are interested.
