Highly Trained, Caring Staff
Hale Kūʻike has a dedicated team providing 24/7 care to our residents. Nursing Assistants provide round-the-clock care and monitoring, while our Registered Nurses are onsite during the day and available on call after hours.
Hale Kūʻike’s staff training is based on Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® model. Each staff member is trained to understand the experience of memory loss and to focus on residents’ strengths. Strong connections with residents are made by learning their life story and applying the qualities of friendship. Learn more about Positive Approach to Care®.
Dorothy Colby, Director of Community Engagement, is a dementia educator Certified Positive Approach to Care® Trainer and provides hands-on dementia education classes for all Hale Kūʻike staff and interested families of residents.
